The Liberty Theater is a fully restored, art deco icon on Hailey’s Main Street. The original Liberty Theater was built in the early 1900’s and was located directly across the street from its present location.

The Present-day Liberty Theater was built in 1938 on the site of an outdoor ice-skating rink. Jack Rutter, a local contractor known for his exceptional craftsmanship, envisioned a modern building to hold community events and screen “talking movies".

The Liberty was sold in 1973 and then again in 1994 to Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, who worked to restore the historic theatre to its original glory. In 2017, Moore and Willis donated the building to the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, ensuring the Liberty Theater’s status as a beautiful and iconic performance venue would remain well into the future.

In 2023 the Liberty Theater was almost demolished before local legend, Logan Fredrickson, purchased and saved the historic building. Logan’s hope is to bring the community feel back to the theatre and re-activate the space for any and all types of local events. He also hopes to use the space to encourage more touring artists to come to the Wood River Valley.
