KELLEN SMITH
Kellen Smith is a singer/songwriter from Gillette Wyoming. He is a University of Wyoming graduate, and a fifth-generation cattle rancher. He began playing guitar and writing while in college at Laramie, WY. Smith's devotion to crafting songs wrapped in western stories and imagery offers a unique perception for the listener to enjoy. He is backed by Wyoming’s infamous 5-piece “Nate Champion Band”
The Nate Champion Band is a 5-piece multi-genre jam band hailing from the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains in Sheridan, Wyoming. The group's eclectic range of music will bring you a fusion of rock, psych, country, blues, soul, jazz, reggae, and bluegrass all blended into one delicious sound for your ears to enjoy. NCB is comprised of Bill Heide (lead vocals, guitar, harmonica, jaw harp, cunga, and medicine flute), Cooper Quarterman (face-melting lead guitar, vocals), Spencer Porden (rhythm guitar, swirly sounds, pedal steel, vocals), Richard Wilson (drums), and Jobe Jennings (electric bass, electric upright bass). The group's music is regularly heard on Wyoming Public Radio's statewide music station, Wyoming Sounds. NCB's mix of original music and deep-track covers will have you dancing the night away, whether you call yourself a hippy, or a cowboy. "Grab your horses, grab your guns.”
Kellen makes his home on the Daly Ranch. The Daly Ranch was established in 1894, by John T. Daly, and has been run for the last 125 years as a working cattle ranch. John T. Daly is the great, great, grandfather Kellen Smith. In that 125 years, the Daly Ranch has grown to its current size. Currently, Kellen Smith lives on the ranch with his wife and three children, they are the sixth generation of family members to live on the ranch.”
